NATIONALS STEEPLECHASE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM

Sponsored by:

Hosted by:

The steeplechase championship program will consist of a three-round event.  The first round will be offered to ALL dogs eligible to compete in AAC (i.e., it will not be restricted to Nationals participants only).  This will be a sanctioned AAC Steeplechase event, judged according to current AAC rules & regulations for all 12 jump heights with a pre-determined running order.  Ribbons will be available for AAC titles, placements and qualifying scores.

The top 50% of competitors from each jump height will be invited to compete in the semi-finals.  The second round will be a non-sanctioned Steeplechase event, but will still be judged according to current AAC rules & regulations.  Competitors will start the second round with a clean slate - i.e., scores from the first round will not be carried forward to the second round.

The top 15-20% of teams from the second round (actual percentage will be determined later) will be invited to compete in the National's Steeplechase Championship Finale, which will take place on Sunday afternoon after the last National's event has been completed.  Again, competitors in the final round will start with a clean slate and will run in reverse order, with the highest placing dogs from the second round in each height division running last.
