2008 AAC Nationals Agility Equipment
The Nationals committee has finalized our deal with a very meticulous but down-to-earth equipment manufacturer and I think you’re going to like what you hear. We will be using the company “Chute4Qz” from Ontario to supply 95% of our equipment requirements. Jenn Groulx and Erik Karlsen will be manufacturing, preparing, and hand delivering our specific list of equipment for 6 rings right to the site, in Sussex, NB on Monday, August 4th. After many phone conversations and deciding the most effective method of doing this, we have come up with the following:

You will be able to purchase your desired equipment, ask specific questions, make payment plans and order directly from them, either by email, phone, or fax.

Their website will have all the price details, descriptions and DISCOUNT DEALS listed for you. Multiple obstacle orders can get up to 20 % off. Please feel free to get a bunch of friends or club members together along with your club’s order to compile one big list. The bigger the list, the bigger the discount applied to your collective order. Special offers include: buy 6 jumps and get one free and with each tunnel purchase get a jump for only $105.00 ($10 savings).

I have seen their contact obstacles at ARFF’s club in Saint John and found it to be very well made (steel framing). All obstacle pictures are available on their website. Please note that the weave poles will arrive for Nationals with a 20 inch spacing, rather than 18.

All the equipment will arrive competition ready, so all you have to do is have your name on the pieces you want, visit the distribution location and load it into your vehicle at the end of the Nationals event. (no shipping charges) There will be a required 30 % down payment for placing your order preferably by a certain date (TBA) and then making the rest of the arrangements directly through Jenn.

The 3 items not on their list at this moment in time are the 6 tires. We are looking at a new design, safe break-away tire design, the 6 e-timers and the 6 tunnel wraps. The e-timers will be available for purchase through Signature Gear. For the tunnel wraps, we are waiting for an answer from a designer in the states. Details will be available on our website as things become finalized.

I can tell you that the A-frames and chutes will be particularly stunning. The A-frames will be red tops with of course yellow contact zones but the AAC logo will be on both sections of the red…simply beautiful. The chutes will be custom made with red bottoms, white tops and the AAC logo appearing on the white portion of the material, (also come with sewn in sand bag pockets). Exact details will be available from Jenn. All the equipment will match each other as well and all the jumps are steel frames with removable wings.
As of June 25th, one of each of the contacts, one chute, a few tunnels and several jumps are available.

Signature Gear will be providing us with complete 6 e-timers sets for our event. They are offering their equipment for purchasing as well. Their pricing will be regular pricing. However, he will be coming to our Nationals to compete in the pre-qualifier anyway so there are no freight, duty, GST or PST charges tagged onto the cost. That represents a savings of about 35 – 40 % over the cost of buying the same gear in the states and having it shipped to Canada.
They have agreed to allow until March 31st ( Maritime Purchases) to get a 30% down payment of one of these systems with the balance due by June 30th.

The newest and safest design for the Break-Away Tire has been selected to be part of our equipment roster for our Nationals event. This design has the tire hinged at the top so if a dog crashes it, it simply swings open on the bottom edge with the weight of the dog and goes back into position by itself. No manpower would be necessary for the reset. He will send you a photo if requested.
The cost is $425 plus tax for the complete unit. We will try to get a shipping deal to help cover that part of the cost. (Consult Frank on this)
