August 2 & 3, 2008

Do you or your dog experience ring nerves? Does the thought of Nationals, summer trials or first time competition make you nervous? If so, this seminar is a must!  Join FAST for a seminar in motivation, positive thinking, confidence building, and nerve management while maximizing your effectiveness in the ring.

We are fortunate to have as our presenter an extraordinary teacher and motivator.  Her approach is upbeat, high-energy and, best of all, positive for both dogs and handlers. In addition to a PhD in education, Brandi has years of experience in the agility world, including multiple Nationals podium finishes with her Shiba Inu Soshi. Her two young Belgian Malinois are the up-and-coming beneficiaries of what Brandi has learned along the way from top handlers in Canada and the United States.

The weekend seminar is currently full however, audit spaces remain available.  Private sessions with Brandi are also available in the Sussex & Saint John area on August 2-6 and can be arranged by contacting fundyagility@hotmail.com for more information or by visiting our website at http://www.fundyagility.com/2008/august.htm.

For the first time Say Yes summer camps are moving out of Ontario. Come and unwind after the Canadian Nationals by enjoying yourself at a handling camp with the Say Yes team; Susan Garrett, Lynda Orton-Hill and Tracy Sklenar. All three of these handlers have worked with Greg Derrett at least 10 days a year over the last 5 + years. During this time Susan has won more then a dozen National Agility Championships, 2 World Championships as well as winning the ESPN Great Outdoor Games. Lynda and Tracy are Susan’s most experienced instructors teaching both with her at camps at home as well as representing Say Yes doing seminars all over the world. You will also recognize their names as regular contributers to DogSport Magazine. Lynda Orton-Hill and her Golden Retriever “Spirit” were the highest placing Canadian of any high class at the 2007 FCI World Championships and were recently named to the 2008 team. Her young Sheltie “Favor” is already turning heads with her speed at just 2 years of age. Tracy Sklenar, who is the manager of the 2008 AAC World Team, has had success in agility with both her Dalmatian “Peirce” and Rat Terrier “Rebound” and is currently winning on a regular basis with her 16” mixed breed “Export”.

Not only are all three instructors world calibre competitors they all have had success with both large and small breed dogs. Who better to teach you a handling system then people that have had so much success learning to execute it?

An evening lecture before camp will give you the groundwork for understanding Greg Derrett’s phenomenally successful handling system. You will be working short sequences designed to teach how your position as a handler and the consistency of the handling system you choose will benefit your dog over his career. The focus of camp will be proper execution of both front and rear crosses as well as the use of your motion cues and body position to communicate effectively in the ring. Come prepared to work as this fast paced camp will run you through many handling drills over the course of the three days.

All participants must be competing in agility have competency on all pieces of agility equipment and be available to attend the evening lecture before camp.
