PRESENTS

Steeplechase …What a Ride!!!!!

Once again, this year’s AAC Nationals will host the fast and fun-filled event “STEEPLECHASE” along side our usual Standard, Jumpers and Gamblers Nationals events.  Remember, that you do not have to be a “Nationals competitor” to enter this Steeplechase event.

This year promises to be exciting and rewarding for both handlers and canines, just by being a part of it…prize money will be given for the top 3 placements in each height category, in all divisions (regulars, specials and veterans).

The format will be: a regular “qualifying” 1st round, with the top scoring ½ of each class and height division moving onto round 2.  Then after the results of round 2 are compiled, a percentage of those dogs then move onto the final round on Sunday afternoon.  This has proven to be a true highlight and finale of the spectacular Nationals weekend.

If you are sitting on the fence about your decision to run in the Steeplechase…I have “good news” for you…I ran in it last year for the first time at a Nationals event.  I honestly had no expectations, just figured I would have an extra chance to practice my dog by running in the qualifying round.  I have to tell you the truth…there was no pressure, no stress, no worries…it felt like a regular run at a regular trial.  I had an absolute blast from the moment I walked into the ring of that qualifying run, all the way to the final round for the placement ribbons.  The camaraderie, great laughs, shared moments and all round great sportsmanship made every dime of the entry fee worth- while.  I really had no idea that the rounds would be as fun and relaxing as they were.  So if you’re undecided about this aspect of your 2008 Nationals experience, please, please consider what you might be missing out on…probably more than you can imagine.”

(quote from…Darr Houssen and Buddy (Pomeranian), 2nd place in the 6” veteran Steeplechase round and $120 in prize money…first time Buddy ever paid his own entry fee to any event…I kinda liked that too!!!)

So fill in your Steeplechase entry form once it’s posted on the site and get it in the mail.  If you enter this extremely fun-filled event, who knows what awaits you.  Can only be “good”, right???

So have extra fun with your dog at this year’s Nationals event and enter the

Sasha’s Blend National Steeplechase Championship.

You’ll enjoy every moment of it!
