A Flash Back to a Futuristic Cartoon...

Thinking back to the 80's and how every Saturday morning, my boyfriend, Doug (at the time) and I would be sure to watch our favorite cartoon "Galaxy High School". My daughter was too young to get into it at the time (but she put up with us). She preferred watching "Pee Wee's PlayHouse" with Cowboy Curtis who was played by Laurence Fishburne (more known for his role as Morpheus in "The Matrix") Well, he had to start some where! Ah but the 80's were fun!

I just realized other cool things about the short lived, futuristic cartoon - A review bit I read:

"Developed by "Harry Potter" producer and director Chris Columbus, "Galaxy High" followed the intergalactic adventures of Earth exchange students Doyle Cleverlobe and Aimee Brightower and their interactions with a student body culled from a variety of alien worlds and cultures. Featuring stunning early TMS Entertainment animation; an infectious music score by former Eagle Don Felder (who also performs the memorable theme song); and scripts featuring a great amount of diversity, ranging from character stories to slapstick comedy, Galaxy High (in terms of quality) was far above most Saturday morning offerings."

So why did this cool show only air for 13 episodes!? No knock down on "The Smurfs", "Scooby Doo" or "Thundercat" shows or even "The Jetsons", but "Galaxy High" was so unique and ahead of its time with awesome music. Each episode gave a great message / lesson in them. Not sure about you, but High School was a b*tch for many, and moreso for kids today...

If I had to relive my life over as a teenager (ugh) , I'd hope to at least attend a high school like Galaxy High. It was so out of this world! LOL

This finally came out on DVD mid 2006. Prior to that, you were SOL.
Side note: To me, Aimee (the girl from Earth) ends up looking a bit like Pat Benatar.
