White Sphere hovered in same spot for over 25 minutes!

On Friday, August 17 2007, I was gazing out my small EAST window of my computer room and observing the pretty clouds against the brilliant blue sky.
Around 5:20 pm, very high to the N NE direction of my view, I saw something that did NOT belong there: a bright SMALL sphere in the sky that did not move. I grabbed my binoculars to have a closer view of it and realized it looked VERY similar to what I video taped back on May 30 2007!
I turned on my camcorder and tried to find the object in the view finder but because it was so high. The angle to this object was very hard to get to through my window view. So I took the DV Camcorder off the tripod and was able to find it in the view finder and started to record it at 5:22 pm. It was after a few frustrating attempts that I then paused the camcorder, put it back on the tripod and ran outside to the EAST side of my house to get a better view of this object.
The object was still in the SAME spot! So I sat down on the ground with the camcorder on the tripod, holding it close to me so that I could try to find and pinpoint and focus on the object and started to record again at 5:29 pm. The object was hard to find in the small viewfinder in the bright blue sky. Although I could see it very well with the naked eye, trying to find it in the viewfinder was like trying to find a needle in a haystack!
After several attempts of zooming in and out, I finally find it in the view finder! I had the tripod sort of set up but not steady on the ground as I had my legs wrapped tightly around the tripod and close to my body. I was afraid to move or even breath and worried that I would loose sight of the object. This white sphere DID NOT MOVE the entire time that I taped taped this. In the video, you see the birds / bugs and clouds float by, but this OBJECT hovered in ONE SPOT. I never had to change my camcorder angle to follow it. If the object had moved about, I am positivie I would have lost it in the viewfinder - I would have never been able to tape it or zoom in on it for as long as I did.
Over view:
The video of the white silverish sphere video taped on August 17 2007 - was NOT a balloon - You realize that when you see the clouds move on by this object, and the object DOES NOT MOVE. Nor did I. I stayed zoomed in on the object and sat in the SAME SPOT without ever having to change the camcorders angle to follow it.
This was first seen around 17:20 at about a 70-80 degree angle up from my EAST window view.
This was seen in the N-NE direction.
I started taping the object in 34X OPTICAL zoom at 17:22.
I lost sight of it when the huge thick cloud came in at 17:47
(this was observed for over 25 minutes in the same spot!)
When I was outside filming this, I was sitting on the ground the entire time in ONE spot on the EAST side of my house looking to the N-NE direction at this sphere. The only thing that moved up there were the few birds and clouds that went by. This strange sphere just stayed in one spot and NEVER MOVED. (good thing it did not move, or I would have never been able to find it in the view finder and zoom in on the object as long as I had it if were moving about)
NOTE: around 17:40 (as seen in the video) , I paused the camcorder, and switched the camcorder over to record in Digital zoom so I could get closer. At 17:44 ( 4 minutes later ) I finally found it in the view finder and started to record it again in DIGITAL ZOOM. I know that's not what I should do, but the 34X optical zoom just did not get in close enough for me.
At 17:47 I lost sight of the object when the huge cloud came in and blocked my view of the object.
Weather: Clouds were scattered at 7,000 Feet and scattered at 25,000 Feet. Surface Winds Were From The Southwest at 5 MPH. Winds at 7,000 Feet (Height of First Cloud Layer) Were From From the Southwest at 9 MPH.
Overall, at least I taped this in OPTICAL and DIGITAL zooms. And this is far better than what I tried to video tape on May 30 2007. ALSO, when I viewed this sphere with the binoculars, it looked VERY similar to what I saw (and video taped) on May 30 2007, but to watch this on video, it doesn't look at all what it looked like through the binoculars.. (just like the May 30 2007 video).

This was just before I ran outside to continue to video tape it.

As you can see from the images above, I zoomed in as best I could when in 34X OPTICAL Zoom. I took the chance of loosing sight of it again, but changed the camcorder over to DIGITAL ZOOM about 14 minutes into the video. (it can go up to 800X digital zoom but I barely zoomed in up to 100X Digital zoom)
Later this same evening, I emailed my questions over to Oregon MUFON and UFOSNW.com to find out if it's possible that I taped a planet or star in the direction and time that I taped this. I've lived here all my life and have never seen a planet or star in this direction at this time of day in the summer.
Here is one response I received before he reviewed my video:
At 5 to 6 PM, August 17, 2007, here's the celestial activity:
Venus, Mercury, and Saturn were clustered around the Sun about 30 degrees up from the horizon in the west. You could NOT see the planets. Jupiter was in the SE, 13 degrees off the horizon and you could NOT see it. Mars was NOT in the visible sky at the time. These are the only possible planets visible.
No stars were visible in the N to NE to E from the horizon to 60 degrees altitude at 5 to 6 PM. However, Vega at magnitude 0.0 at 38 degrees altitude in the ENE MIGHT POSSIBLY be visible, but this is very unlikely. Stars and planets move only slowly in the sky, of course. Their movement is not particularly noticeable in 10 minutes or less time. However, you can certainly notice that stars or planets have moved in 15 minutes or longer time even if you are a casual observer and you have stayed in the same place and have a sense of aligning the star or planet against something on the ground.
Quite a number of satellites (20+) have passed through your N to W viewing area. But these generally were traveling from the horizon (or down to the horizon) in the NNE off to (or from) the east. However, virtually all these satellites take NO MORE THAN 4 to 5 minutes MAXIMUM to follow their paths through the sky. Also, it is very unlikely that any of these satellites was visible to the naked eye or in binoculars.
I don't think you've got a celestial object. You've got a balloon or more probably another UFO. If your object shows up on videotape, it is very unlikely that it is any celestial object at this time of day in the summer here in Portland.

I then converted the 4.7 Gig raw AVI video to a HQ WMV format (download link of this provided below) so I could email the video to MUFON and UFOSNW for their review. This is still being analyized, but they believe that I have video taped a true UFO. This was NOT a star or planet. (see above explanation) And this was NOT a balloon. Balloons can NOT hover in one spot for over 25 minutes! If this were a balloon, I would have never been able to stay zoomed in on the object as long as I had. When I was zoomed in on this object, it NEVER MOVED (nor did I other than the camera shake due to the high zoom). And I never had to change my camcorder angle to follow the object. I was so afraid of loosing sight of the object and would not move my tripod and my self to a better position.
Below are a few ways I've tried to present this object - The FIRST 5 Minutes of the video is hit and miss of taping the object, but I was finally able to zoom in on the object. About 14 minutes into the video is when I had paused the camcorder (at 17:40) and switched over to DIGITAL ZOOM and started to record again at 17:44
