We've had a wonderful series of spring rides with some fantastic pot lucks and now we begin the slow pace of summer with no organized rides planned until Sept. 5. Although we have no planned rides, Fort Custer is still very much open to horseback riding anytime so please take advantage of the well marked 22 miles of trails available. Plan ahead for the September Campout Sept. 18-20. This is the one opportunity we have to horse-camp at the park and it's the highlight of our year filled with fun and games.
We are watching with interest two bills before the House and Senate- the bridle tag bill and the Right to Ride bill. Please look these over and contact your legislator with your opinion.
We are working on getting some materials to the park to build the long awaited bridge and that is moving along.
Pres. Melva Parker is submitting 2 proposals to the park for horse camping options for which we are ever hopeful that they may be fulfilled in time.
Enjoy the summer, come to the park, get out and ride!
To kick off the fall riding season we have our campout coming up Sept. 19-21. This is our big chance to camp at the park and it’s always a lot of fun- games, prizes, moonlight rides, lots of trail riding and fun being together in the campground.
