Watch the lights on the practice tree above, there are two sets of ambers, three yellows and then the green* "Rollout" is the time it takes from when you step on the gas and when the car actually gets moving enough to break the timing beam. Drivetrain slack, clutch/convertor/tire slip all add to this. I searched around the 'net and found "average" rollout numbers varying from .150 to .325 seconds. This, combined with your physical reaction time is the true reaction time of the vehicle.
This is a free online practice tree with rollout, is like a .400 pro tree, press the "Stage" button, and the yellow stage lights will come on. Wait for the amber light and .400 seconds later, the green. Press "Launch" to start once the practice tree comes down! Go ahead and stage, the tree will come down within 10 seconds! Remember, the top lights will turn yellow, then middle ambers, and then you have .400 seconds to the green!

Remember: .400 is perfect, keep trying until you get close!!
