Day 1 - 11/17/07 - Deer hunting trip with Uncle Kevin in the Ventana Wilderness.  Drove late into the night last night and then crashed near Cambria, I slept in the car and Christian and Mikey slept on the bluff above this beach, very nice.  Foggy in the morning, drove the rest of the way up highway 1 and up Nacimiento Ferguson Rd to the rendezvous pt.  From here we drove the rest of the way to the trailhead on the cone peak road.  Packed up and hiked down to Vicente Flat where we set up camp, beautiful weather.  Went out for a scouting trip at dusk, but didnt see much other than game trails and sign.  Amazing sunset, view from the hills over the fog bank very nice.

Day 2 - 11/18/08 - Took a longer scouting hike today, up the stony ridge trail and to the north.  Limekiln Canyon was beautiful, trail a little overgrown.  Several nice campsites above and below the trail in this canyon.  Adventured a little down the canyon, lots of poison oak after a quarter mile, somewhat impassable.  Hiked up and out of Limekiln Canyon up a Bay and Oak tree filled canyon to come out on a grassy flat area.  Views started to open up, great camping, but no water.  Wrapping around the ridge to the north, views get even better.  Did some scouting for deer, similar to last night, many trails but few deer to be seen.  Returned to camp at a leisurely pace.  A beautiful day, 75 degrees, perfectly calm and clear.  Mild night as well.

Day 3 - 11/19/08 - Slept in, lazy morning and then hiked out with Uncle Jeff to catch a flight back to SD.  The rest of the boys stayed in another night (or 2?), moving camps to Limekiln Canyon and bagging a big buck in that area the night of the 19th.
