Two weeks after my last trip in Yosemite's Clark's Range, I was able to come up to Yosemite again for a 3 day backpacking trip with a bunch of friends.  Me, Mike, Hesh, Min, Kim, Nick and Rachel drove up from San Diego and met Daphne, Erica and Anna in Tuolomne Meadows friday night.  After a tasty chili dinner (thanks min) and a few glasses of wine, we made it to bed at a reasonable hour.  Though there were many trees around in the backpackers camp, the stars were amazing.  It took a while getting organized in the morning and we got on the trail around 10am.  First day of hiking wasn't too bad, made it into Fletcher Lake around 3:30 and set up camp.  Plenty of time to relax, play cards and then make dinner.  It was a windy night, not very good sleep.  Woke up and got moving earlier on the second morning, making it up and over Vogelsang Pass and down to Merced Lake by 1:30 for a late lunch.  It was a long day of hiking with lots of descending making it not so fun for many.  We set up camp along the Merced River below Bunnel Pt. near a nice swimming hole and had an hour of relaxation and short dips and then sun on the rocks.  We cooked up dinner and had a fire, and were able to stay up later since conditions were more pleasant than the previous night.  Despite the long day of hiking, the swimming hole and fire kept everyone in good spirits.  On the last day, Nick, Mike, Anna and I got up early to hike down to the valley where we met my parents for a ride up to Tuolomne Meadows to retrieve the cars.  The rest of the crew got going an hour later and met us in the valley.  It was a little harder hike than most people had imagined, but everyone survived and did very well.  Thanks and good work to the hikers for pushing through, hopefully you'll come hike with me again.
