FRIENDS OF KEARNY MESA DOG PARK CLUB MEMBER APPLICATION

       I the undersigned certify that I am a Kearny Mesa Dog Park User. I will work for the betterment of the

park and I agree to support and comply with the Constitution and Bylaws of the Friends of Kearny Mesa Dog

Park Club.

As a Club Member I will be able to vote for Club Officers and Board Members. I will be able to present ideas

and complaints to the Board in the interest of fostering improvements for dogs and dog owners.

DEFINITIONS:

1.     Park User - any person who brings a dog to the park. Park Users can submit suggestions for park

improvements or complaints to the Club Board, preferably in writing. With a week's advance notice a Park

User can submit an agenda item for the next Board meeting and give a short (three minute) presentation to the

Board.

2.    Club Member - any Park User who frequents the park and wishes to volunteer his/her time for the

good of the park. There is no membership charge, but prospective members must sign a membership application

providing the Club with contact information to notify them of meetings, upcoming events, park closures, and

other information pertinent to the use of the Park. Club members may nominate and vote for Board Members

and Officers.

3.    Board Member - any eligible Club Member may be nominated and elected by Club Members to be a

Board Member or Officer. Only the votes of Club Members count in elections of Board Members and Officers.

Only the votes of the elected Board Members and Officers count in the decision making process. Only issues

approved by the Board may be presented by the FOKMDP Club Representative to the Kearny Mesa Recreation

Council.

4.     Officers - Chairperson/President, Vice Chairperson/Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer (Note: The

positions of Secretary and Treasurer may be combined), the FOKMDP Club Representative to the Kearny Mesa

Recreation Council. Duties of Officers are described in Article IV of the Constitution and Bylaws of the

Friends of Kearny Mesa Dog Park Club.
