NEW YORK STATE WEIMARANER RESCUE

If you have decided to adopt a Weim, we assume you have taken the time to CAREFULLY research the breed, and know that this is the breed for you. If not, please take the time to do so before you fill out an application, on which you will be asked questions about Weimaraners in general to ensure you are the right home for a Weim!

The first step in the adoption process is to complete an adoption application. Please see our forms or e-mail Jen at wujenj14@hotmail.com for an application. Completing the application does NOT imply that you will get a rescue dog, it is the first step to finding a rescue Weimaraner?s forever home.

We do allow adoptions out of New York State, however, you must complete the adoption process and you must also be willing to sign a contract that, if for any reason, the adoption does not work out that you will return the dog to New York State Weimaraner Rescue at your expense.

New York State Weimaraner Rescue operates completely on donations and volunteers. We do ask for an Adoption Donation for every dog placed. The donation is set on the age, health, and vet bills we have incurred with the Weims. The donations range from $100-$300.

We are in the process of creating a list of prospective homes for Rescue Placement. Please fill out our Adoption Application. The application is in Word .doc format. Open the file in word, complete the application, save the additions, and e-mail the file back to me. (wujenj14@hotmail.com) Your application will be kept in a file for consideration of placement.

The basic conditions of adoption are:

New York State Weimaraner Rescue policies include the following:

All potential homes must fill out an application and be approved by New York State Weimaraner Rescue.
Adoptees must sign a contract detailing all New York State Weimaraner Rescue guidelines.

The Adoption donation will range between $150 to $300 to be paid to New York State Weimaraner Rescue. Fees may vary by dog.
All dogs must be spayed or neutered, there are NO exceptions.

New York State Weimaraner Rescue reserves the right to deny any home a rescue dog.
Due to the number of "Bad" checks, we are no longer able to accept personal checks for our dogs. We will accept Cashier's Checks, Money orders and cash only.

Submission of an application does not bind New York State Weimaraner Rescue to place a dog with you, procedures are followed with every adoption, and if your application fulfills our requirements, you will be contacted, and discussions for placement will begin.
