Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our New York State Weimaraner Rescue Program! We are always looking for wonderful people who share our love of weims, and interest in their welfare.
NYSWR is a non-profit and tax-exempt organization completely run by volunteers who care about these Weimaraners enough to share their time in finding them a forever home!
I am in the process of recruiting new volunteers; please download our Volunteer Application in the FORMS section. The application is in Word.doc format. Open the file in word, complete the application, save the additions, and e-mail the file back to me at wujenj14@hotmail.com. Your application will be processed and you will be contacted.
FOSTER HOMES
We are always in need of foster homes. This would entail your providing a loving, and stable home for the weim until a new forever family is found. New York State Weimaraner Rescue pays all the medical costs for the weim, and will also help pay for or supply the dog food if necessary. The only thing we ask is your time and love. Being a foster parent is a very rewarding experience, and you actually have the final say in where that weim goes "home" to.
If you are not able to foster, there are many other ways you can assist us including assisting at fundraising events, transporting Weimaraners across the area, evaluating dogs in shelters or being surrendered by their current owners, and doing home checks of potential adopters.
