Hi - my name is Pat Brogan (aka Petal) - I am a self taught artist working mainly

in watercolours although I have dabbled in acrylics and oils though not to any great extent.

I belong to a online watercolour forum called WetCanvas which has been a source of both

inspiration and learning for me.

My favourite subjects are buildings - portraits - and all things mechanical - though sometimes (but rarely)

I will go out of my comfort zone and try new things.

I have been writing poetry since I was in my teens but only really took it up seriously about 15 years ago - I have had some of my poems published and have also won awards from the International Library of Poets.

My home town is Wigan in Lancashire in the North West of England where I work as a Company Director

for our family firms - I have lived here all my life and I love it - the town dates back to Roman times

when it was known as Coccium - travelling out of town for ten minutes will bring you to the lush countryside

of Lancashire - a haven for landscape painters - of which I am not one!!

My other interests include Genealogy - DIY  and Reading
