He's not into computers, they're not fun to him you see
You really couldn't call him a man of the 21st century
I know he has a mobile phone, that's one thing he has right
Though most times you will find it switched off and out of sight
He doesn't see the point in fact of all this technology
He philosophy is simple 'Big Brother isn't watching me!'
He likes to tootle through his days unfazed by all things modern
Except of course his motor car now that really is a good 'un
Oh and he has his VCR and big wide screen TV
So you see he isn't that averse to this modern technology
I don't think 21st living is the thing that he is fearing
He just likes to be selective the same as with his hearing
And of course his memory too, is selective in its own way
'Me?- remember 20 yrs ago!, I can't remember yesterday!'
I know he's getting older and not as spritely as he was
But well-..he's still a cutie and such a little love
He'll read this ode then roll his eyes, his thoughts on this will keep
He'll just sit quietly in his chair and eventually fall asleep
So we will leave him slumbering with dreams of days gone by
When internet technology was all pie in the sky.
