I drove up to your house tonight

Saw the lights shining

Into the darkness like those

Of the lighthouse that guides

The sailors safely home

But this isn't my home

Even though within its walls

Is where I really feel safe

For that is where you are

My life- my heart - my soul

Like a ship adrift on the ocean

I can only watch

As my final vestige of salvation

Moves further from me

Taking with it all hope

With one last look behind

I drive slowly away

The rain starts to fall

Blurring my vision

Or is that just my tears
