You've reached your 60th birthday
A celebratory milestone indeed
A time for ponderous reflection
A lifetime of memories revealed
Where did he go that little boy
Who found joy in life's simple things
Is he lost in a lifetime of living
As a grown up and all that it brings
Take time and search your inner self
To find him once again
Live for a while just like he did
Your efforts would not be in vain
Remember the joy and the laughter
The summer days all spent in play
Recapture those innocent years
Before its too late in the day
Give thanks for this life you've been given
Though at times it may seem a trial
But remember the little boy in you
And let him out once in a while
So I come to the end of my poem
With one final thing left to say
Here's to the next 60 years
And a Very Happy Birthday!
