When I was a little girl my mother had a beautiful collection of antique cameras that kept me mesmerized and sparked my fascination with photography.
I loved photographing things that I felt that no one else saw. When I was eighteen, I married and moved with my husband from Philadelphia to California. He Gave me a digital camera so that I could take as many pictures that I wanted. When he saw that I had great potential for taking pictures he asked me if I wanted to work as a photographer for his wedding and social events business. Any project that my husband got into I followed along as the photographer. I began to become more independent and started to photograph models on my own. My favorite subject to photograph is flowers. I love to catch enchanting moments that make me feel that it was a moment that would never happen again. One picture that makes me very proud is of a flower with a bee inside. I happen to be sitting at a friends house by the pool, I was on my adventure that day of taking pictures of nature when a bee landed inside of a flower beside me, I didn't have a chance to take the picture before the bee flew away, but by chance he flew back to the same flower again and I then took my opportunity to take the picture. The colors in my collection are very bright and vibrant, you see the details of how the lighting cloaks each leaf or how the dew drops lay gently on the petals, the wonderful contrasts of soft roses protected by sharp thorns, each photograph tells its own story. When I look at my photography I have a feeling of pride and what I hope for people to feel when they look at my photography is a feeling of discovery and excitement.
