REVOLUCION STRATEGIZES ON CENSUS 2010 RESPONSE WITH RIGHT TO THE CITY

September 14, 2009—Right to the City, a national alliance of racial, economic and environmental justice organizations, selected REVOLUCION as its communications partner for a four-market campaign to increase response to Census 2010. REVOLUCION will develop paid and earned media strategies along with a brand identity for the program, called "Yes We Count", which is designed to increase census participation among Hispanics, African-Americans and Asian-Americans in the metro areas around New York, Los Angeles, Northern Virginia and Miami-Dade.
“Participation in the upcoming census is vital to bringing about the change that Right to the City works for every day,”

said Claire Tran, civic engagement organizer for RTTC. “With the help of REVOLUCION’s planning processes and branding expertise, we can make Yes We Count an effective awareness program that motivates people to be counted.”
All residents of the U.S., both citizens and non-citizens, are required by law to respond to the census. The resulting data from respondents are used by the Federal government to determine congressional seats and $400 billion in federal funding towards public transportation, food grants, programs for the elderly, emergency food and shelter, among many other services.
