One a Day Word
Expressions (of Christian Faith) Day 1
September 15, 2009
When I think about the word expressions I think about emotional expressions, like anger, sadness, or joy and happiness. These are all emotions we all face and we can also relate to the expressions that go along with them. My plan this week is to discuss just some expressions of our Christian faith, not to detailed but tasty enough to make us think.
A foremost expression of our faith should be prayer:
1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
(17) Pray without ceasing.
Luke 18:1 KJV
(1) And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Psalms 55:17 KJV
(17) Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
Psalms 5:2 KJV
(2) Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
“Without ceasing”, “always to pray and not faint”, “evening, morning, and noon”, “I will pray.”
Can you see the expression of our faith through prayer? Every child, every woman and every man as believers must embrace an active living prayer life. Prayer is essential to the life of the Christian and is a foundation to our faith in Jesus. Without prayer a Christian is poor, broken and naked, without prayer a Christian is weak, defeated and lost. Without an active living prayer life the Christian is left unprotected, vulnerable, and the target of the enemy.
Prayer builds faith, opens doors, brings about healing, strengthens our faith, cares for others, moves mountains, prepares us for spiritual battle, defeats Satan and his imps, brings about victory, offers protection, and is our continuous line of communication with God.
“Never leave home without it.”
