One a Day Word
Trusting (Faith in Action)
September 24th, 2009
Romans 12:3 KJV
(3) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
James 1:2-3 KJV
(2) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
(3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Faith is achieved by, Hearing, Romans 10:17, One author said, “The more we hearing the stories of the plane landing safely the more we believe it will. The more we see God’s promises coming to light the more we believe”. And by acting on it, James 2:20. The same author said,” You learn to play baseball by playing baseball; you learn to overcome the fear of flying by flying. You learn to walk by faith by walking by faith”.
Many trust in the words of men, but trusting in God is safer, many trusts in science for answers to the origin of the earth, but trusting in God has proven to be more effective. Many trust in money for provision, but God is the Supplier of all things.
Faith in Action demands our trusting in God beyond what we see. Faith in Action accepts God at His Word, and steps out onto the hand of God. Faith in Action will bring sinners to condemnation or to repentance. Faith in Action says “all things are possible”, and “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Faith in Action will move us out of the ordinary into the extraordinary. Faith in Action moves us to the water deep enough to swim in, and away from those who doubt. Faith in Action is willing to wait when God says wait, yet never stops trusting. Faith in Action can move mountains, enter the lion’s den, or a furnace of fire, while the unbelievers rejoice in their meager accomplishments. Faith in Action moves us out to stand before giants while others tremble in fear. Faith in Action steps out of the boat when Jesus says come. Faith in Action will often leave us standing alone, with Jesus. Faith in Action always brings God the glory.
Faith in Jesus is a solid foundation, but it is unseen, therefore most avoid standing or building on it very long.
Our faith in God must be deeper than a Sunday school lesson; it must be rooted deep within the core of who we are in Jesus, and must be made to stand in the toughest times.
