One a Day Word
Expressions (of Christian Faith)
Worship
September 17, 2009
Worship is an expression of our faith:
Genesis 22:5 KJV
(5) And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
John 4:23-24 KJV
(23) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
(24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Psalms 150:1 KJV
(1) Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Psalms 100:4 KJV
(4) Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Hebrews 10:25 KJV
(25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Coming together in cooperate worship I believe is another expression of our faith.
Today September 13th 2009 has been declared as the National back to church Sunday, and what could be better?
Worship is more than church attendance, because some come and leave unaffected by what has been said, and though most forget the sermon before Wednesday, for those who worshiped in truth, they are better because of worship.
Cooperate worship gives us confidence, encourages us, and helps us come to Christian maturity through discipleship, and learning.
But worship is also done in the home, and in our closets of prayer, worship is expressed by praying, raising our hands in praise and adoration, bowing to our knees or standing to our feet all the while lifting the name of Jesus.
As Christians worship is essential as well, offering ourselves upon a sacrificial altar for God as a living sacrifice which is holy and acceptable to Him produces a sweet smelling savor in the nostrils of God, and the effect of it is answered prayers, joy in the midst of sorrows, and peace beyond understanding.
Are you a worshipper?
