1 Peter 2:2 KJV
(2) As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
(17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Yesterday we disgusted how the Lord was ready to use a child even at a young age to do mighty works through Jesus, and too often those of greater spiritual levels tend to believe different.
Today let’s talk about the young in spirit; will God be willing to use a newborn Christian?
Has a newborn Christian ever done anything to merit tremendous faith? If so then we must believe God will accept the faith they have in Him to do great acts of faith.
Every newborn Christian has used tremendous faith! And so has every other Christian! Jesus said, “whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life”, Paul said, “if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away and behold, all things are become new.”
The faith it took to believe Jesus has saved your soul is a tremendous faith! If you and I can believe that Jesus, our sinless Savior, our Creator, would come to the earth, become as man, give His life as a ransom for our soul, forgive every sin we’ve committed, justify us before the One Holy Father, and one day raise us from the dead as He was raised from the dead, and take us to be with Him forever, having defeated forever, Satan, the evil influence of sin and destruction in this world then we have shown great faith!
If we can believe that God formed this world by the Word of His mouth, then we have shown great faith!
And such faith should be more than enough to believe God for the extraordinary, is was a newborn Christian that went into the city as a missionary saying “come see a man”, is was the newborn faith of a jailor to overcome the fear of death, and take Paul and Silas out of the prison, treat their wounds and take them to his house and lead his entire family to Jesus.
There is no special badge, no trophy to obtain, no level of spiritually beyond that of salvation that merits us “able to be used by God”! Does the newborn Christian need discipleship? Yes! Do they need a Bible believing Christian Church to support them and instruct them in the ways of God? Absolutely! Every Christian does. Do they need the spiritual direction and wisdom from other believers? Yes they do!
But the faith they exhibited in Christ to salvation, is enough to believe God for the supernatural.
