Organizational Development Background

Adam Rubel has spent nearly a decade working in the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. After graduating from Rutgers College with a degree in economics and philosophy, Adam went on to co-found Saq’ Be’, an organization working with Indigenous groups in the Americas, where he worked to harness the power of online communications in helping Native communities to get their stories out to the world. He has worked for the National Network of Grantmakers and the Wyss Foundation. In 2004, Adam co-founded the Institute for Collaborative Change (ICChange), a nonprofit committed to helping organizations become more effective in creating positive change in the world. As an independent consultant, Adam has worked with dozens of organizations to grow their capacities, become more strategic and leverage their resources to maximize their results. Adam continues to consult with organizations, helping them to anchor their relevance and grow outside of the box to maximize their long and short term impact. Adam's work has ranged from small, local groups to large, national organizations with multi-million dollar budgets.

Personal Training Background

Adam has been a competitive volleyball player since 1990 in New Jersey.  He received high school honors competing in the indoor game that include multiple appearances on the all state team, MVP, and the Governor's Cup award as well as competing in the Junior Olympics.  Adam also launched his two man beach volleyball career at that time, winning his first open (top) level tournament at the age of sixteen.  Adam went on to play for Rutgers college as a four year starter and continued his beach volleyball career with a first place overall season finish in the Sports Action: Jersey Shore Professional Volleyball Series in 1996 (12 tournaments).  After a hiatus from the sport, Adam returned to competition in 2003 and sought new training methods to optimize his performance.  This improvement was marked when Adam and his teammate captured the Rocky Mountain Regional Championship title for the pro division held in Denver, CO in 2006.  Adam continues to travel nationally to compete in various top level events.  He also is a contributing writer for several volleyball related websites and enjoys playing other sports such as basketball, tennis and football.  His own pursuit of peak performance has driven Adam to share the knowledge and expertise he has gained over the years with others.  Adam is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a personal trainer.
