"Autumn Rustic", featured below, marked my first commissioned painting. I am available to commission art, whether it's digitally created and printed by means of giclee, painted on a canvas or panel, or a combination of medias that can include photography, art created in Corel Painter and/or Photoshop with a stylus and tablet, transfers, collage, acrylics, acrylic mediums and gels, and/or oils. This giant piece or art is a perfect example of where a number of worlds meet: photography, Photoshop, acrylics with mediums and gels, and transfers. It utilizes about twenty layers of acrylics, gels, and mediums, many of which are transparent or translucent. When you view it up close and in person, the layered part of this painting takes on an almost see-through quality. It also incorporates original photography of leaves, which was digitally altered and transferred onto clear shelf lining paper and married into the piece. I could have painted the leaves freehand, but I suppose I obsess about process, in many ways. Images - their history of coming into being, the nature of how we relate to them whether artists or viewers, the memories those images hold, and the meaning we draw from them, is often something that I like to acknowledge on a deeper level.
