This practice focuses on a specific sequence of postures (asanas), which are linked through movement (vinyasas) and breath (pranayama).  Ashtanga is an athletic flow combining strength, flexibility and stamina for a complete practice.

Ashtanga is designed to be a daily practice.

Ashtanga Basics/Intro to Ashtanga- This class focuses on building a foundation for the primary series practice.  Designed for students new to the Ashtanga system or for those looking to fine tune their current practice.  Students will be taken through about half of the series, sun salutations, standing poses, and some seated postures.  The unique aspects of ashtanga, breathing, bandhas (locks), vinyasa (flow), and dristi (gazing point) will be introduced and emphasized in this class.

Ashtanga Modified-  This beginner to intermediate class focuses on the first half of the traditional "Primary Series".  A slightly slower pace with less vinyasa allowing more time for instruction.  Modifications will be given as needed.

Ashtanga Primary- This intermediate to advanced class focuses on the full primary series of postures.  Some Ashtanga or vinyasa experience recommended before taking this class.
