I started using Firefox recently only. I had been a IE user for quite some time. I believed in it and downloaded every damn plugin was there and did so many things with it that ordinary users could only dream of like disabling Windows Genuine Advantage plugin.

Now this page isnt meant to add to the already existing millions of sites on how bad IE is. This is just my way of alerting users what happened with me and why should they be careful with IE. I am not asking anyone to stop using IE and install Firefox. Before I started using Firefox I was happy with IE and didnt really use the tabbed feature that Firefox provided. BTW I still dont use the tabbed feature since I am a big fan of Alt+TAB. I had also downloaded IE7 Beta and was happy using it as it provided a lot of features which I wanted such as Anti-phishing. But one fine day while sitting in college and researching for some project suddenly all my windows just closed. This was pissing off as I had like 6 windows open. I already mentioned that I do not use the tabbed feature too much. After all the windows closed my laptop just restarted. Restarting was fine and I thought maybe some virus had creeped in and my anti-virus and anti-spyware took some action. After restarting I resumed and clicked on the IE icon. Nothing happened. Just a small error came up. Straightaway I un-installed and re-installed IE. Again the same thing happened. Since I was in a meeting I had no choice but to download and use Firefox. Still I thought that maybe something else is creating an issue. I went home, did a thorough checkup and found out nothing other than IE was problematic. I noted the error that I was getting. After visiting countless forums such as Experts Exchange I got the answer. The error that I got was due to some error in a .dll file for IE and the only repair method was reformatting. I wasnt going to reformat my laptop. No way. Only way was to start using Firefox.

Since I have started using Firefox, life is pretty ok. No crashes. Not that I had any with IE. The biggest plus with Firefox is that it starts real fast. Themes are ok, but extensions is pretty cool. All in all I have had a pretty good time with Firefox and hope it continues.
