Welcome!

My name is Tera, and I am an emerging artist residing in Addison, Texas.

I create art as a means of expressing what I cannot find words for. I hope to build a body of work that memorializes the people and places that are a part of me, the concepts and principals that I hold dear and the observations that I make about the world. When others see what I have to show, I hope that they find something that they can relate to - an "aha" moment (or maybe even, "oh, yeah").

I choose the mediums and materials that I find a natural affinity for. I don't have to think and plan and structure every single detail if I'm comfortable enough with the tools. Rather, I just let my muscles move naturally to build the living image in my mind's eye. This way, the end product flows through me more than it does from me.

Starting with the mediums with which I am most familiar - acrylic and colored pencil - I am developing techniques to give my work greater scope, depth and texture than ever before. I will eventually add more tools as well - in particular, airbrush and sculpting mediums.

As long as I begin every piece by saying, "This will be my best yet," and then meet that expectation, I'll be content.
