I have been very blessed in life and have had the opportunity to do some things.  I received my BA in 1984 from The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  My degree was in Music Education.  After teaching school for one year, I decided that was enough for me.  I went to work in an Emergency Children's Shelter for three years, and that introduced me to the world of social work.  Since then, I have worked in the field of Social Work in the area of Child Protective Services for the last 17 years.

I have been a professional musician for 25 years.  I have also taught piano for approximately 20 years.  Creativity is something that I enjoy.  Whether it be music, woodwork, writing, or artwork,  I have to have an outlet for the creative side.  About a year ago, I was introduced to the world of art.  What a facinating thing to do.  The medium that grabbed my eye was Colored Pencil.  It is so versatile but can be so exact in getting the details on paper.  I also don't have to worry about getting paint or pastel dust on the floor.  This keeps me out of BIG trouble at home!!!  I fell in love with it instantly.  The style that I have gravitated towards the most is Waterscapes and Landscapes.  This particular field is wide open in Colored Pencil.  I do portraits and have found them extremely enjoyable.  I use Prismacolor Colored Pencil.  I have used Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper, Crescent Illustration Board, and Stonehenge Paper.  I have just recently begun using Stonehenge and it quickly became my favorite.

Thanks for looking.  I hope that you will grab a cold one ( Diet Pepsi of course ) and enjoy my gallery.
