SUMMER CAMP IS JUNE 24-30th, 2012!
7 Ranges Scout Reservation http://www.7ranges.org/
We will camp in Rila Ridge campsite this year.
o We will have new Troop T-Shirts made prior to Summer Camp. Cost of the T-Shirt will be $7.00, and be available in several colors yet TBD. Mr. Brenot will be heading this up.
o We have the option to buy 7 Ranges T-Shirts at Summer Camp for $11 pre-order.
o Pipestone prep – Robert will be in charge of Pipestone wood collection and instruction for the rest of the troop.
o Possibility of a second week of summer camp at an in-council camp for those that cannot make the 7 Ranges Camp dates. This is TBD.
o Service Project at 7 Ranges – The plan right now is to do a rehab on the trail near Erie campsite. We will need to bring rope, digging and clearing tools, and have the Ranger provide tree rails for us to use to fix those that are down or broken.
Merit Badges available at Summer Camp - Here is the list of merit badges offered this year at Seven Ranges. Please choose which merit badges and times you are interested in so that you can discuss it with the Scoutmaster before April 30. May 1 is when the Scoutmaster can register everyone for merit badges for summer camp. Please note the prereqs, age, and rank restrictions. Here is a good web site to get prepared http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Merit_Badge_Worksheets
Troop 268 is attending summer camp at Seven Ranges (east of Canton) on June 24 - 30, 2012.
The cost is $270 per boy and $105 per adult, but discounts are available. We would highly encourage every scout to make plans to come to summer camp this year. It is a great way to earn rank and merit badges, but more importantly, it is a great way to build unity within the troop. It is a fun time for any adult that wants to come on help!
A discount of $20 is available per boy if $100 is paid by March 12 and $150 more is paid by April 9. Total cost would then be $250
A discount of $5 is available per adult if $60 is paid by March 12 and $40 more is paid by April 9. Total cost would then be $100.
A special early bird gift (last year it was a water bottle, the year before it was a hat) will be given if $50 (of the $100) per boy and $40 (of the $60) per adult is paid by Feb 13.
Only those who turn in their money and forms by February 13 will receive the early bird gift.
We will need forms filled out for everyone who is going to summer camp. Individual Scout funds can be used to pay for summer camp expenses.
