Our Mission: People Helping People
The Disaster Preparedness and Response Team started voluntary operations in November 2005 following the October 8 2005 earthquake. It is comprised of civilian volunteers who give some of their time to train, support community training and in major emergencies act as volunteer disaster workers.
The driving force behind DPART comes from a lack of any official focus on disaster training or emergency preparedness for communities in Pakistan and the slow progress of the present Civil Defense Force.
DPART SAR helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergencies in their communities. When emergencies happen members can provide support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. DPART members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community.

Here at DPART we believe in ordinary "People helping People" we can accomplish this through proper training and awareness of communities in Pakistan while working to building partnerships with organizations in the disaster management and emergency response arena operating in the country to provide a cohesive and coordinated response to future disasters.
