THE CHAMBERPOT GALLERY

was located in the bathrooms of the Chamber Of Commerce in Yellow Springs, Ohio. The gallery is the brainchild of two local artists, jafagirls Nancy Mellon and Corrine Bayraktaroglu aka Jafabrit. It was curated by Nancy and Corrine and sponsored by the Yellow Springs Arts Council .
The project ran from 2006 until 2010 and gained international attention in a variety of media from newspapers, radio and television. The gallery had four major exhibits that a totaled roungly about 90 paintings over the years. The purpose of the project was to focus attention on Yellow Springs as a unique arts community that even offered art in their local restrooms as well as provide a unique venue to showcase local artists.
While the exhibit is now down paintings are still available for sale.
