Why you must report:
Because it is the law
to protect the child and to provide help for the parets
To whom you must report
To a "child protective agency" or
County welfare Despartment, or
Probation Department, or
Police or Sheriff's department
What, When, and How to report
Report suspected abuse by phone immediately to an appropriate agency
Submit a written report within 36 hours
Safeguards for Reporters
Reporters are immune from criminal or civil liability for reporting as required
Child Abuse includes

Physical injury inflicted non-accidentally on a child

Child sexual abuse, both assaulty and exploitation

Wiilful cruelty or unjustified punishment , including mental suffering (emotional abuse)

Corporal punishment or injury resulting in a traumatic condition

Neglect: "general" or "severe"
