As a woodturner, Bob has chosen to include the natural aspects of wood in the finished product of the woodturnings. To accomplish this, the source of wood for lamps and other projects is the cordwood from the woodpile. Segments of bark, the unfinished surfaces created by the woodsplitter, knots, burls, bark inclusions, arrested decay, as well as the interface between the sapwood and the heartwood all provide unique contrast to the smooth professional finish of the product.
