Exhibition of Contemporary Tibetan Art

 

Gallery ArtSite is happy to invite you to the opening of the exhibition with art work

from Puntsok Tsering and from artists of the Gendün Chöpel group from

Lhasa, Tibet, at 16 August 2008 from 17.00 till 19:00 h.

 

Puntsok Tsering has studied literature and art in Tibet. He started to use poetry in a free style.

Now he works and lives in Germany. In his collages he combines calligraphic signs with images

of everyday life, commenting on current events. For his art work he uses handmade paper from

the Himalayas.

 

The artists of the Gendün Chöpel Artists' Guild show their visions on Tibet, combining traditional

symbols and modern signs. Some use traditional Buddhist expressions and combine them with

contemporary images, others use mythical themes. This is the first time their art will be shown in

The Netherlands.
