Karen E. Giles created Four Winds Design in 1992. Karen offers one of a kind art pieces for meditation, ceremony, healing spaces, personal growth and healing, or ornamental purposes.
She creates very personalized Spirit Mandalas for people. She paints symbols, animals, and spirit guides on stones and drums. She also creates murals and wall hangings.
Karen also paints unique animal portraits, capturing the spirit and character of the animals she portrays.
This past summer, Karen published her first book, Day Lily: A Chincoteague Pony's Journey, which she wrote and illustrated.
She is a founding member of the New England Equine Art Experience.
Personalized Spirit Mandalas
Using shamanistic techniques, Karen lovingly channels empowering and healing information from the universe to portray an individuals unique spiritual self. She creates the mandala on buckskin, and may incorporate animal and spirit guides, angels, elementals, fairies, and symbols. The completed painting is hung on a cedar hoop and adorned with feathers, stones, beads, shells, and other special objects as requested or needed.
