Cheerleading

2007 TCA saw the inaugural year of the Trinity Cheerleaders! The girls were able to support our various athletic teams, including soccer, basketball and volleyball.  As part of the athletic program, the emphasis of our cheer program is to provide an additional means to develop our young ladies into Godly women and assist them on their journey as stated in Trinity’s Mission to seek purpose, wisdom, virtue and courage.

We fielded two teams, a Junior High squad and Varsity squad and 35 girls participated, including team mascot, Lily Caddow! The Trinity Cheerleaders had their premiere last fall at the Valencia Town Center when they participated in Trinity’s Christmas program. The performance was a rousing success and only a foreshadowing of the successes to come!

During the year, the cheerleaders took part not only in sports activities, but were active at pep rallies, Santa Clarita’s 4th of July Parade and made a big splash at Grandparents’ Day!

The cheer program develops the young ladies spiritually as well as physically. The girls participate in conditioning programs; they learn stunts, jumps and tumbles. Dance routines are incorporated into the program as well as different cheers and chants.

The girls are reminded of the blessings we receive from the Father and it is our responsibility to share those blessings with our community. The Trinity cheerleaders participate in various service projects and in July, several of them volunteered to teach cheer at KidsGames, sponsored by Valencia Hills Church.

As the Trinity cheer program enters its second year, Coaches Ivette DeMarois, Jeannette Ruiz and Assistant Coach Janelle Randall have a lot of new and exiting plans for the 2008 – 2009 cheer season.

We’d like to thank all the parents and girls for their efforts in making our inaugural year a success. We would also like to thank Athletic Director Russ Klehn for his support and Liz Caddow for all her help and guidance.
