History of the Lowrance Users Geocaching Guide
My first ideas for creating a website for Lowrance GPS users came when I received several Emails from different members of Geocaching.com asking my thoughts on ways to manage Geocaches on the unit and other tasks. The people who sent me the Emails reported that I had been helpful, so I decided that I would attempt to publish my methods and tricks to operating the unit for everyone to benefit from.
The guide was first published to the Internet on Thursday, May 25, 2006. Using Blogger I had found a place to post the how-to articles I wrote, that original Blog can be found here: Geo Lowrance Blog
I set up the Geo-Lowrance Forum around July 11, 2006. I wanted a way to include more people into the sharing of information, and have a clean and organized area to put it in. Along with that, on July 13, 2006 I moved the Guide to a real hosting service. After much learning I managed to get a couple pages of info set up and moved the content from the Blog over to the new space. However the hosting proved to be pledged with advertisements and that irritated me greatly.
Finally I found a better hosting service that was Ad-Free and easy to work with. I moved the site again on
September 30, 2006. That is how you find it now hosted with Site Kreator.
To date the Lowrance Users Geocaching Guide has been hosted on free space and available to everyone.
