About Us

Graham's Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2009 by Jennifer and Nick Hall in memory of their son, Graham. Its mission is to offer both practical and emotional support to parents of extremely premature babies. The foundation supports the parents by sending care packages to them during their journey in the NICU, and the foundation’s website provides a place for parents to share their stories and find support.

"When I saw all that we had going for us in the NICU...a marriage with a solid foundation, supportive employers, excellent health insurance, help from family and a wonderful NICU staff...yet we felt like we were barely surviving, I knew we had to leverage our experience and help make a difference for future parents of extremely early preemies."

Jen Habrych
Director of Social Media

With a background in social media, public relations, writing and media, Jen began with Graham's Foundation in summer 2011 to direct the social media efforts as Graham's Foundation and it's social community began to grow. To contact Jen, please email jen dot habrych at grahamsfoundation dot org

"It was at a reunion of friends that I reconnected with via social media that I heard Jenn Hall's story of her twins Reece and Graham and how she had turned her heartbreaking loss into the work of Graham's Foundation along with her husband, Nick. I started following the work they were doing as a 'fan' of their facebook page and when I saw that they had a void that I could fill, I couldn't imagine not joining the team of such incredible people working for such a tremendous cause."

Jen Larson
Operational Development and Support

Jen has worked with Graham's Foundation from the beginning. She started working with Nick on various projects in 2004 while working at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute as a Grants Administrator. The work with Nick allowed her to transition to work from home full time to care for her two children, Travis and Isabelle. To contact Jen, please send an email to jen at grahamsfoundation dot org

"I've truly been inspired by the foundation Nick and Jennifer created after such heartbreak. I aspire to have their positive attitude."

"Having a later-term premature daughter in the NICU - even for a brief period of time - was an eye-opening experience. I didn't know anything at all about prematurity, and I only encountered the realities that very early preemies face while doing research to find out what difficulties were ahead for my daughter. When a baby born at 28 weeks gestation was admitted to our NICU during our daughter's stay, I saw that her parents were absolutely shell-shocked but I felt like I had nothing to offer them in that moment. Finding Graham's Foundation has given me a way to reach out."

Tina Walsh

 Care Package Development

Tina has had many different jobs and careers, but being a mom is by far the most important job she's ever had. She became a part of Graham's Foundation through her initial work as a member of the event planning staff for the first Toledo Micro-Tini event, and she has been an active part of the organization ever since.  To contact Tina, please send an email to tina at grahamsfoundation dot org

"I am a mother of five healthy children from five healthy pregnancies, but through Graham's Foundation I have gained a new appreciation for what the families of premature babies go through in the NICU and beyond. I love being a part of the Graham's Foundation mission and having the ability to help so many families across the country via the care package program."

Regional Ambassadors

Julie Caldwell
Chicago

Julie felt an instant connection to Nick and Jennifer when she heard the story behind Graham’s Foundation.  She, too, endured the loss of her son, Gabe, when she gave birth to twins at 26 weeks in December 2009.  So, when her other son, Landon, was released from the hospital after a four month stay, she felt drawn to help other NICU families.  An executive assistant by day, Julie enjoys the special event planning aspect of her job and is excited to contribute her skills to Graham's Foundation.  To contact Julie, please send an email to jdelos24 at yahoo dot com

“I feel like Gabe brought Graham’s Foundation to me so that I can let families like mine know that they’re not alone in this.”

Jamie Gardner
San Francisco Bay Area

In Oct. 2010, Jamie and Bryson’s twin boys were born at 27 weeks at the Alta Bates hospital in Berkeley. In their first of three long months in the NICU across the bay from their home in San Francisco, the Gardners received a care package from the Graham's Foundation that brought an immediate feeling of community outside of the NICU bubble. It made a real impact. Grateful for their good fortune after finally bringing their boys home, Jamie sought a way to stay connected to the force that played a critical role in saving their boys' lives. She wanted to give back and be there for those parents who were riding the same roller coaster she and her new family had ridden for so long. In her Ambassador role, she is able to do just that by creating and cultivating the Graham's Foundation community throughout the Bay Area.  To contact Jamie, please send an email to jamie at jhgardner dot com

Anne Richter
New York Metro

Anne's daughter was born in 2006 at 26 weeks and weighed 1 pound 4 ounces.  Eliza came home after 100 days in the NICU.  At the time Eliza was in the NICU, there was no hospital NICU support group. Anne started the NICU support group at the hospital shortly after her daughter was discharged.   Anne also co-moderates an online support group for parents of micro-preemies and has been an active fund raiser for organizations which assist and support children with special needs.  When Anne learned about Graham's Foundation she thought it was a wonderful way to assist NICU families, who so desperately need support and a connection to other families with micro-preemies.  Anne works as an attorney in New York City. To contact Anne, please send an email to elizagracesmom at yahoo dot com
