Answering Questions & Overcoming Objections

When recruiting, staff may experience resistance fromdonors with reasons why they can’t donate. Often, these reasons are inaccurate and may come from a donor’s lack of familiarity with automated blood collection. Educating donors on benefits of automated collection is the first step toward encouraging their donation.

When dealing with objections and questions, you should always

• Attempt to overcome at least two objections.

• Be polite and understanding, and never assumptive.

• End each objection-handling attempt with a statement that attempts to close on making a donation appointment.
