I thought you might like to know a little about me and why I am standing to be your MP. I’m 32 and live in Kingston with my husband, Marcus and our son, George. I grew up near Redhill in Surrey and both my parents are doctors. My interest in politics was kindled by frequent family discussions about the NHS.
For the past 10 years I have worked in healthcare, telecoms and media. I believe experience outside politics is vital for being an MP. Voluntary work in schools has given me insight into the challenges teachers face every day. I have experienced the gulf in standards between good schools and bad schools and seen how problems from home spill into the classroom.
I am standing because I am committed to making life here better. As your MP, tackling problems here in Kingston and Surbiton would be my priority, yet I believe an MP’s duty goes further. I would work for a future free from conflict, terrorism and devastating climate change.
