I believe that being your candidate is not just about asking you for your vote on election day. It’s about doing everything I can to make things better between now and that day. I’m standing because I want to make a difference and I’m not willing to wait another year (or two, depending on when Brown gets round to it) before starting that work. At the very least, these campaigns should give you an idea of how hard I would work for you as your MP, when I would not only be campaigning in evenings and weekends (as I have to at the moment while doing a normal job), but full time .

I am campaigning on the issues that affect local people, on problems that people have told me about at our street stalls and the concerns that have been raised in the many letters and emails I receive each week. Some of these are very local issues, such as the closure of the day centre at Hobkirk House, others are national, such as our campaign for a referendum on the EU reform treaty. In all cases, they are issues which local people feel strongly about and I am determined that their voices will be heard.

If you feel strongly about any of the issues on this website please support the campaign. Where we are collecting signatures for a petition, please sign up. When we are holding a protest or street stall, please come along. The more people who join in, the more likely we are to be listened to; the more we are listened to, the more chance we have of making a difference.
