Kingston Council want to sign a new refuse contract that means rubbish that cannot be recycled is only collected every fortnight, but we believe that this is wrong. The new contract which the council trailed in Berrylands and Alexandra often resulted in extra trips to the dump, which may cancel out the environmental benefit of recycling. The Council should stop underestimating people and recognise that this borough is full of responsible citizens who really want to recycle.
