Artist Biography

 

As an artist I enjoy working in various media including painting, ceramics, photography, printmaking and mixed media. I have taken many courses in studio art at the college level and through community organizations. My artistic skills have developed through constructive criticism in formal instruction as well as periods of solitary artistic exploration.

I hold a BA in Art History and an MA in Art Education. Through this training and subsequent professional opportunities, I have had the opportunity to see art from a range of perspectives, allowing me to develop a critical eye for evaluating my own art and that of others. I have worked with various non-profit arts organizations and in art education. A balance between the extroverted aspects of arts administration and teaching mixed with the introspective nature of my own art making seem to be a perfect fit for my life.
