Joanne Caputo.

Filmaker. Joanne's first documentary, ON A ROLL, recommended by The New York Times and winner of the 2005 PBS Independent Lens Audience Award (pbs.org/onaroll), followed her 1995 children’s video, BALLERINA, BALLERINA!, recommended by Sesame St. Magazine and others. A magna cum laude graduate from the University of Pittsburgh and former teacher, Caputo has worked in film production since the 80's. Married and the mother of two sons, Caputo is a happy breast cancer survivor with several films in progress. She also loves to dapple in graphic design (creating her own DVD covers and film-related graphics) and has authored two non-fiction book manuscripts about enslaved African American mother, Margaret Garner.

 
A little-known fact
 about JC is that she played a Zombie in George Romero's 1984 "Day of the
Dead."
