Mediation is an integral part of the judicial process intended to enhance its quality and efficacy.  Mediating is nothing more than facilitating a broken down negotiation--that is, guiding the parties towards an efficient negotiation process to reach a resolution of their dispute.  Mediation is private and confidential and offers parties the opportunity to empower themselves by controlling their own outcome.  Virtually any type of conflict may undergo mediation, such as neighborly disputes, family conflicts, interpersonal disputes, property disputes, school conflicts, work conflicts and transactional conflicts.  Linda Tancs, a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators, offers mediation services to parties in a wide range of commercial disputes, particularly those involving intellectual property rights.
