News & Calendar

Saturday, February 3, many gathered in our basement fellowship hall to cut & assemble blankets for LUMC's prayer shawl ministry. About 16 of us, young & old(er), joined in! We had a great morning & made about 16 blankets! (Some had to leave before photos were taken.) After praying over the prayer shawls and blankets, they are distributed to those suffering from cancer or other serious illnesses, those in the hospital, or those who are ill and are unable to leave home. Many have gone to the cancer units in both Highland District and Clinton Memorial Hospital. Bibles with bookmarks have been added to each gift bag, along with a written poem about prayer shawls/blankets that include a Bible verse. Those who have received these blankets and shawls have expressed that they have been a comfort to them and are very appreciative of the gift. If you would care to contribute to the purchase of yarn or material to keep this ministry growing, please make out a check to "LUMC" & memo "Prayer Shawl Ministry". Our mailing address is P. O. Box 333, Leesburg, OH 45135.
