Hello. My name is Rick Pearson, and I live in Austin, Texas. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I have been doing wildlife, science fiction, and visionary art under the company name of Leviathan Productions for over 20 years. The purpose of my work has always been to celebrate the beauty of nature, and the wonders of the Universe, and thereby to teach others about our fragile planet and hopefully to create the desire to learn more about it, and to protect it. Many of the images that you see here were derived from over 30 years of meticulous research into the anatomy and behavior of marine mammals; especially the sperm whale.

The Whale & Dolphin and the Star Trek & Sci-Fi Galleries have some examples of my work. You can purchase many of the displayed images, printed on a variety of products, from T-shirts to mouse pads to stickers, at my new Cafe Press Store. Go to http://www.cafepress.com/leviathan53 to view my store and to make a purchase.  And be sure to visit my wife Sherri's Cafe Press Store at http://www.cafepress.com/regalos78750 .  You can also purchase many of my images on greeting cards at my new Greeting Card Universe Web Storefront at http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/leviathanproductionscardstore . Thank you.

I've often donated the use of my work to wildlife conservation organizations such as Greenpeace and Cetacean Society International. One of my most recent special projects has been a request from the John Denver Memorial Peace Cloth to do a series of T-shirts illustrating the songs of John Denver. The T-shirts are being sold as a means of raising the necessary funds to keep the Peace Cloth an ongoing concern. Since I usually paint or draw while listening to his music, it was a natural thing for me to do, as well as a great honor. The images for four different T-shirts in the series have been completed, and they can be seen in the John Denver Gallery. In the fall of 2007, the Peace Cloth began to go through a major reorganization, and for a while you could not purchase any of my designs from them. However, their on-line store is now up on their new web site, and you can now purchase the 2007 designs from them. The main site is at http://www.johndenverpeacecloth.org/ ; and the new store URL is at http://www.johndenverpeacecloth.org/store.php .

During 2004-2005, I started a new phase of my art business, by doing my first murals, at a local public swimming pool. As the murals progressed, I posted them in the Murals Gallery. If you live in the Austin area, and you would like for me to paint a mural for your home or business, you can look on the murals info page to get an idea of my pricing structure and how to contact me for more information, and/or to schedule an appointment.

Starting in the fall of 2005, I decided to start volunteering to paint healing murals for children with various types of illnesses, and posted my name and web site address on the web site for an organization called "Artists Helping Children"; go to
http://www.artistshelpingchildren.org/ to find out more about this wonderful organization, and the healing work that they do. As a result of that posting, in early 2006, I had the chance to paint a brand new mural for a family in nearby Killeen, Texas, who has an 18 year old son who has a terminal illness. Photos of his healing mural can be seen in the Healing Murals Gallery. I am now in the process of setting up a non-profit organization, called "A Brush With Healing", that will provide similar murals, for free, for any child that has a serious illness, and for local hospitals, clinics, homeless shelters, etc., anyplace where healing is needed.

Please be sure to check out my profile, and the profiles of other Austin area mural artists, at the Austin Mural Artist web site, at http://www.austinmuralart.com/ .

So thanks for stopping by; stay a little while, take a look around at my work, and I hope that you like what you see.
