I am a new artist. I only started last year using pastels.  I was inspired to try and get the wondrous beauties on paper. I then was recommended by a friend to "paint it."  My mom began painting and I saw how easy it was to get started so I picked up a set from my supportive husband and I "painted it."  It was not real bad so it rose my self esteem enough to continue.  I am now able to work from reference photos.  I really enjoy painting.  It is such a great way to spend time relaxing but yet being productive.  I enjoy landscapes but may get into more of adding animals into my works.  I am currently self taught but I use all the critique I can get from my wet canvas group. They are so helpful. I do love painting and want to continue in it forever. It is such a relief from my somewhat busy lifestyle.  Full time job, 3 wonderful children, and all the great activities for my local church (song sign team, corale, and praise singing team).  Thank you for checking out my site and please drop me a line with any comments. mariahrt1117@yahoo.com
