One of the greatest frustrations in my life is my amazing inability to grow anything!!! So instead of growing flowers I try and draw them. I love the bright vibrant colours of flowers and seek to capture that in watercolours or coloured pencil. I find coloured pencil a really good medium to use as it combines my love of drawing with the potential to build up deep colour. I particularly like to get right up close and I feel then that I am looking into the depths of their soul. And all the time I wish they would grow for me. My one consolation is that in real life, their beauty is so ephemeral, whereas once I catch them on paper, there they remain, fresh and vibrant forever!
